Netley Miltary Hospital or Royal Victoria [RV] Hospital - Netley near Southampton [England]
brief history:
Building for this hospital started in 1856 apparently on suggestion of Queen Victoria, who visited often.
During ww1 a large Red Cross hutted hospital was built at rear of the hospital, accommodating around 2500 beds.
Most staff were overseas Red Cross volunteers.
Some 50.000 patients were treated, It was very much used during world war 1 for wounded military.
Due to fire, it was demolished in 1966.
